Reflection: This article describes the causes & effects of World War II on the world, and how most countries were either directly involved or affected in some way by this devastating event. One thing I found interesting about this article was how much artillery the Nazi powers actually had. For example, they had 442 machine guns, which was much more than all the Allied nations combined. Another interesting piece of information is that German U-boats numbered up to 240 at one point, and they sank over 630,000 tons of shipping in just one month. This absolutely debilitated the Allied powers in Europe who relied on these supplies. After a while, though, the Allied ground & air powers were able to defeat the Axis.
