Reflection: This article details the history & heritage of the African American population in the United States. It goes into special detail on the many plights that have been faced by Black people, such as slavery, racism, and police violence. I learned a lot about the Civil Rights Movement, and how WWII contributed to its growth throughout the country. I also thought that the article did a great job at highlighting the disproportionate impacts of the Great Depression & the following commodity shortages on Black people compared to the reast of the population.
