This true story occured in 2008-2009, when a deadly virus named "Conficker" began wreaking havoc on over 3 million Windows computers. Mark Bowden captures every facet of the story in this book, and goes deeply into detail on not only the behavior of the virus & its creator, but also on the efforts (lack thereof) to stop the virus by the United States government. It is truly astonishing that a small group of vigilante hackers were able to defeat a virus this pervasive and dangerous on such a large scale. +
